A boardroom is an area where a group of people typically, who are elected by shareholders to manage a company, gather. It can also be a room where people gather to discuss important business decisions, such as selecting a new CEO, or creating branches. A boardroom can also be a virtual conference room where groups can meet online. These virtual meetings have numerous benefits including improved governance as well as increased attendance, decreased expenses for travel, and a greater board diversity.
The term boardroom is also used to refer to a sports media outlet created by NBA star Kevin Durant. The Boardroom network features interviews with athletes and celebrities about sports and culture. It’s partnered with NBCSN and includes the original series The Boardroom with Durant and Rich Kleiman.
When a candidate is removed from the show, an emergency Boardroom is scheduled to discuss their actions. This is usually the case if the candidate broke rules or behaved in a manner which made other candidates uncomfortable. In season 10, for example the emergency Boardroom was held after candidate Anand sent an email to his acquaintances asking them to pay for a pedicab that was against the rules of the show.
